“Oh, I know we've come a long way
We're changing day to day
But tell me, where do the children play?” -Cat Stevens
Transport yourself to a world where vibrant colors dance against a backdrop of earthy tones, capturing the essence of life in an urban or suburban setting. Introducing "Wash Day Scrimmage," a captivating mixed media masterpiece that will ignite your imagination and warm your heart.
A patchwork of textures and shapes intertwine, creating a dynamic and layered composition that will leave you mesmerized. On the left side, a power pole stands tall, adorned with clothes gently swaying in the breeze. These garments, painted in hues of yellow, red, green, and blue, infuse the scene with a burst of energy and vibrancy, contrasting beautifully with the muted tones of the background.
As your eyes wander across the artwork, you'll notice a mesmerizing depth dripping from every layer. The background unveils a tapestry of weathered metal siding, some adorned with graffiti-like marks, evoking a sense of urban allure. Above this industrial motif, graceful silhouettes of birds soar across sections of a serene blue sky, their fluid movements capturing moments of freedom and inspiration.
In "Wash Day Scrimmage," mundane moments transform into extraordinary memories, reminding us of the magic found in the simplest of things. It is a celebration of childhood spirit, showcasing the remarkable ability of children to find joy even in the most challenging circumstances.

Let "Wash Day Scrimmage" transport you to a world where imagination knows no bounds and ordinary moments sparkle with extraordinary brilliance.
My mixed media paintings consist of acrylic paint and digital collage. They are painted on museum quality archival paper and then laminated to a cradled wood panel, varnished, waxed and then framed in a black floater frame. Each piece begins as a digital study on an iPad where the basic composition and coloring is determined before the hand painted original is started.
