Slow Drift in D Minor  30" X 24" X 2"  Mixed Media on fine art paper laminated to a wood panel. Framed and ready to hang

….The realization that they were drifting apart was becoming apparent to both Josh and Maria. Maria was lost in solitary musing while Josh was escaping into his music….

"Slow Drift in D Minor" is an abstract and colorful mixed media painting depicting two individuals set against a vibrant, geometric background.

The creation of this artwork was inspired by the slow decline and separation of a love affair as well as the artists love of music. The title gives a nod to the many songs written in the key of D Minor. Hits such as “Sultans of Swing”, “House of the Rising Sun”, and “Layla”.

My mixed media paintings consist of acrylic paint and digital collage. They are painted on museum quality archival paper and then laminated to a cradled wood panel, varnished, waxed and then framed in a black floater frame. Each piece begins as a digital study on an iPad where the basic composition and coloring is determined before the hand painted original is started.

This painting is also available as a canvas print and a hand-embellished print.
