“Don't waste your love on somebody, who doesn't value it.”
― William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet
“Romeo and Juliet 2.0, where passion and romance intertwine in an abstract embrace of love and desire. The artwork, titled "Romeo and Juliet 2.0," transports viewers to a modern reimagining of Shakespeare's timeless tale of forbidden love. The central figures, locked in an intimate kiss, embody a sense of eternal longing and affection.
A swirling collage of geometric shapes and vibrant colors frame the lovers, creating a visually captivating backdrop that draws the eye deeper into the artwork. Facial features peek out from the edges, hintinvg at hidden emotions and unspoken words. Photographic insets of a stone balcony and an arched door add a touch of mystery and intrigue, inviting viewers to explore the narrative behind the scenes.
The vintage book cover subtly reference the literary inspiration behind the artwork, adding layers of meaning and depth to the composition. The warm color palette of reds, yellows, and browns infuses the piece with a sense of warmth and nostalgia, evoking a feeling of timeless romance and longing.
Experience the magic and enchantment of "Romeo and Juliet 2.0," where art and emotion merge in a symphony of love and desire.
My mixed media paintings consist of acrylic paint and digital collage. They are painted on museum quality archival paper and then laminated to a cradled wood panel, varnished, waxed and then framed in a black floater frame. Each piece begins as a digital study on an iPad where the basic composition and coloring is determined before the hand painted original is started.
