“Neon signs a-flashin' Taxicabs and buses passin' through the night
A distant moanin' of a train Seems to play a sad refrain to the night” - Brook Benton
Excited to share my newest painting, "Rapture in the Rain." This work is an exploration of vibrant city life transformed by a rainy night, inspired by the song "Rainy Night in Georgia" by Brook Benton.
My mixed media paintings consist of acrylic paint and digital collage. They are painted on museum quality archival paper and then laminated to a cradled wood panel, varnished, waxed and then framed in a black floater frame. Each piece begins as a digital study on an iPad where the basic composition and coloring is determined before the hand painted original is started.
This painting is also available as a canvas print and a hand-embellished print.
