Marrakech. 36" X 36" X 2" Mixed Media on fine art paper laminated to a wood panel. Framed and ready to hang
"It is the most lovely spot in the whole world… Marrakech is simply the best place on earth to spend an afternoon". - Winston Churchill
Within this vibrant world, five ethereal figures emerge, their forms elongated and enigmatic, each draped in garments of elaborate pattern and hue. The dresses, resplendent in a symphony of colors, weave tales of tradition and mystery, their intricate designs whispering secrets of a distant place.
"Marrakech" is an ode to a land where time seems to fold upon itself, where the present melds with echoes of the past. The composition is a heartbeat captured—a moment caught in the iridescent shimmer of a city's soul. It speaks of journeys both seen and unseen, of the beauty that rests in the shadows and the light. As the viewer gazes upon this artwork, they are transported to a magical place, a mystical realm where art and reality intermingle with breathtaking allure. In this masterpiece, the spirit of Marrakech is brought to life, a vibrant testament to the artist's vision, an invitation to wander through worlds unknown.
My mixed media paintings consist of acrylic paint and digital collage. They are painted on museum quality archival paper and then laminated to a cradled wood panel, varnished, waxed and then framed in a black floater frame. Each piece begins as a digital study on an iPad where the basic composition and coloring is determined before the hand painted original is started.
