…..Bethany was trying to decide which cocktail would suit her as Bradley was relishing in the nicotine rush that happens on the first puff. Both substances legal and socially acceptable, for now….
Bethany and Bradley are depicted in a stylized manner that suggests complacency and boredom. Bradley, dressed in a suit with a tie, holds a cigarette, while Bethany, in a patterned dress, is deciding what cocktail she desires. The modern, geometric composition creates a sophisticated, relaxed ambiance in an interior setting. Earthy tones mixed with blues suggest a contemporary retro elegance. The artwork explores the subject of substance dependency in modern society, reflecting on how boredom and complacency can lead to bad habits.
The image is printed on museum quality archival paper and highlighted with acrylic paint and ink. It is then laminated to a cradled wood panel, varnished, waxed and framed in a black wood floater frame.
